“Skill Training for Rural Youth on Beekeeping Concludes at Lower Sumin under Sumin Lingzey GPU”
Pakyong, September 28: The week-long Skill Training for Rural Youth on Beekeeping concluded today at Lower Sumin, Sumin Lingzey GPU, organised by the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Pakyong District, in cooperation with the Agriculture and Horticulture Department, and sponsored by MANAGE Hyderabad.
The program was conducted for the farmers of Lower Sumin in the presence of various dignitaries, including Panchayat members, Deputy Director and Deputy Project Director of ATMA, Ms Rebecca Gurung; Agricultural Development Officer, Ms Sangita Basnett; Assistant Inspector, Ms Sandhya Rai; Resource Persons, Mr KB Khulal and Mr Darshan Upreti (Block Technology Manager); Agricultural Technology Manager, Mr Tik Bir Gurung; as well as farmers and field staff from the Agriculture Department.
During the program, Ms Rebecca Gurung emphasised the significance of bees and the essential aspects of beekeeping, underscoring the imperative of the training. She also encouraged all participants to fully capitalise on the training opportunity.
Participants and resource persons also shared feedback, recounting their experiences from the six days of training.
Additionally, the Ward Panchayat addressed the assembly, expressing gratitude to the Department for facilitating the training.
Certificates were subsequently distributed to the participants.
