Gangtok, September 27: Rabdang Rural Project, ICDS, Women and Child Development Department, organised a closing ceremony on POSHAN Maah programme at Sang Bazar today.
The program was graced by Mr.Manoj Karki Panchayat President (Tshlamthang ward) as the Chief Guest, Dr Gaurav Giri from Sang PHC as a special guest,Mr Nima Lendup Bhutia , Panchayat Vice President(Masa zingla ward),Mr Ugen Tenzing Bhutia, Panchayat Kagur Gumpa Ward,Mr Nima Wangyal Lepcha,Panchayat Beyong Ward ,Ms Chokey Ongmu Bhutia Panchayat Tirkutam.
Ms.Anjana Subba led the program by welcome speech along with lightning of lamp by Cheif guest ,Special Guest and CDPO Rabdang followed by poshan Pledge conducted by Ms Sonamit Lepcha Block Coordinator (Rabdang).
CDPO Smt Lhamit Lepcha outlined the objectives of indigenous toys, Art and Craft ,ECCe, and overall well-being under the POSHAN Abhiyaan.
Dr.Gaurav Giri Medical Officer Sang PHC talked of millets as naturally bio-fortified and can be grown in marginal weather conditions, with fewer input costs and fertilizers.
In his address, he outlined the significance of including millets in the diet for improved dietary diversity and nutrient intake.
During the program ,different recipes on complementary feeding were displayed by Anganwadi Workers from Singtam ii zone.
A Competition on indigenous Toys, Art & Craft was conducted for AWWs under Singtam ii zone. Each of the Anganwadi workers were able to demonstrate indigenous Toys, Art & Craft made by them.
The winners are as follows-
1st position- Smt Miki Lepcha.
2nd Position- Smt Junu Tamang
3rd position-Smt Dorjee Ongmu Bhutia
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Supervisor Singtam I zone, Smt Miki Lepcha AWW(Sang).
