Mangan, September 23 : A meeting was held on 22 September 2024 at the Forest Guest House in Lachung to discuss the progress and challenges of the Bharatmala project.
District Collector Mangan Mr Anant Jain (IAS), provided an overview of the current status and the issues causing delays in the project’s implementation.
Mr Jain outlined the objectives of the Bharatmala project, which aims to enhance road connectivity across the country, focusing on border and coastal areas. He stated that the initiative seeks to improve infrastructure and ensure transportation for goods and services.
However, the District Collector highlighted several challenges, including environmental concerns, land acquisition issues, and regulatory hurdles that have impacted the project timeline.
In response to these concerns, Pipons and Dzumsa members assured stakeholders of the organisation’s commitment to support efforts in resolving these issues. The members emphasised the importance of collaboration between user agency (GREF), District Administration, public representatives, and community members to ensure the project moves forward.
The meeting underscored the need for engagement to address the obstacles and achieve the project’s objectives, benefiting the region’s development and connectivity.
Also present were SDM Chungthang, DFO (T) Mangan, Revenue Inspector Chungthang, Revenue Officer Chungthang, Pipon, and Dzumsa members.
