The Urban Task Force meeting for immunization was held today at Conference Hall, Gangtok Municipal Corporation.
The meeting was chaired by Shri . R.B Bhandari Municipal Commissioner, Gangtok Municipal Corporation and attended by member secretary Dr. Anju Rai (Additional Director-NUHM), Members-Dr. S. Dutta Medical Superintendent, Central Referral Hospital, Dr . Ruth Yonzon (Medical Superintendent, STNM Hospital), Dr.Dechen T.Bhutia ( HOD, Community Medicine Central Referral Hospital), Mrs.Dardey Bhutia (Nursing Superintendent-STNM Hospital), Mr. Rozimit Lepcha (Nursing Superintendent-STNM Hospital), Mrs. Mingma Doma Bhutia (LHV-STNM Hospital), Dr.Yogesh Verma (Rotary Club) Mrs.Mina Giri (Sr.PHNO-NUHN), Dr. Mingma D.Lossope(Mol/c UPHC-Gangtok),Dr. Roshnee Tamang(Mol/c UPHC Ranipool) Dr.Dina Sundas (Chief GDMO-NUHM), Ms.Noday Lachungpa( HEO-NUHM).Mr.Karma Angdup UNDP-VCCN East & North), Mr.Bhanu Luma Pradhan(UPM-UPHC Gangtok) .
The main objective of the Urban Task Force of Immunization is to bring in great focus on improving immunization and thereby reducing morbidity related to vaccine-preventable diseases in the urban context.
Dr Myingma D.Lassopa gave a detailed presentation on the status and performance Report of the Universal Immunization Program for the first Quarter of UPHC-Gangtok and Ranipool, she also informed about the preparedness for the Universal Immunization Program as per the discussion during the meeting. A brief discussion on the National Dowering Day observed on 12th Aug 24 and 19th August. (Mop up Day).
The chairperson suggested the following points:
All members of the Urban Task Force for Immunization Committee are to compulsorily attend as Immunization is one of the most important programs for the prevention of mortality and morbidity among infants and pregnant women.
The committee shall maintain proper records and a copy of the HNIS and monthly performance Report should be shared with the chairperson.
The member of the UTFI Committee shall visit the Routine Immunization sessions and sit under both UPHCs for monitoring and Supervision.
The meeting concluded with the fixing of the next quarter meeting to be held in the second week of October 2024.
