Namchi, 16th August: On the auspicious occasion of the 78th Independence Day the Ministry of Women and Child Development Department has invited special guests along with their companions from every State to witness the Independence Day Celebration at Red Fort, Delhi.
The Department of Women and Child Development, Govt. of Sikkim nominated three guests named Mrs Chumila Bhutia, CWC member, Gangtok District, Mrs Kamala Manger(Guruama) AWW, Jorethang Rural Project and Ms.Sangita Gurung, Centre Administrator, OSC, Namchi District.
On 14th August 2024, the guests were escorted for an exposure tour by the officials of MWCD to PM Sangrahalaya and the Parliament House. In the evening, the participants had an interactive session with Hon'ble State Minister, MWCD Madam Sabitri Thakur and officials of MWCD Mr. Anil Malik, Secretary, Mr. Gyanesh Bharati, Additional Secretary,
Mr Sanjeev Kumar Chadha- Additional Secretary, Dr Preetam B Yashwant, Joint Secretary, Ms.Pallavi Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ms.Tripti Gusha, Additional Secretary, Mr.Nitishwar Kumar, Additional Secretary cum Financial Advisor.
The Special Guest from all the states were handed over a token of appreciation for their work in their respective fields by Madam Minister.
On 15th August 2024, the special guests attended the Independence Day Celebration at Red Fort, Delhi graced by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Narendra Damodardas Modi.
