The 1st Indian Reserve Battalion celebrated the 78th Independence Day today at its headquarters in Wazirabad, Delhi.
The event was honoured by the presence of Commandant Mr. Palden Bhutia, who served as the Chief Guest and hoisted the national flag. A ceremonial guard of honour was presented by the IRBn jawans.
In his address, the Commandant emphasized the importance of discipline within the force and encouraged all personnel to uphold the dignity of the Sikkim Police and the state. On behalf of the entire battalion, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Mr. Prem Singh Tamang for his unwavering support and personal attention to the welfare of IRBn personnel stationed in Delhi.
As part of the celebration, appreciation letters were awarded to the best-performing jawans of the battalion, and special recognition was given to those who selflessly contributed to the community by donating blood.
