758 BRTF OF PROJECT SWASTIK CELEBRATES 78THINDEPENDENCE DAY WITH PATRIOTIC FERVOUR IN SIKKIM
758 BRTF of Project Swastik (BRO), responsible for infrastructure development along the Indo-China border in the remotest areas in North and Eastern parts of Sikkim celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at different locations in North and East Sikkim. Flag hosting was conducted by BRO officials of Project Swastik at Donkyala pass (18200 ft, the highest pass in North Sikkim), Pt 4685, Chnadmari, Maul, Chungthang and various other detachments of BRO in Sikkim.
On the occasion, 758 BRTF of Project Swastik paid homage to martyrs those who made supreme sacrifices and remembered their unforgettable contribution towards the nation. During the event, outstanding CPLs were awarded “Certificates of Excellence” and Medals for their valuable contribution to restoring connectivity to North Sikkim during restoration works under OP Teesta. Further, brave personals of 758 BRTF took a pledge that they will continue to work hard and give their best towards nation-building.
Earlier, as part of pre-Independence Day celebrations, 758 BRTF organised multiple events, with an aim to spread Nationalism and patriotism amongst locals especially the Youth of society. Major events include five kilometres of Tiranga yatarfrom Tashi View Point to Chandmari, a Painting competition for students and teachers and a massive plantation drive with the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”.
