"Shiksha Saptah" Celebrated in Pakyong District Schools Commemorating NEP 2020
The schools in Pakyong District celebrated "Shiksha Saptah" from July 22-28, 2024, marking the 4th anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This week-long event aimed to foster collaboration and highlight the educational reforms introduced by NEP 2020.
Government and private schools across Pakyong District actively participated in this event, which involved teachers, students, and educational stakeholders. The activities were organised in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, providing a platform to reflect on and celebrate the achievements made over the past four years of NEP 2020 implementation.
Each day of "Shiksha Saptah" was dedicated to a unique theme, emphasising different aspects of educational and holistic development:
• Day 1 – Monday, July 22, 2024: Teaching-Learning Material (TLM) Day – Teachers showcased and utilized Teaching-Learning Materials tailored to local contexts in classroom settings.
• Day 2 – Tuesday, July 23, 2024: Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Day – Awareness activities and activities like story narrating, FLN based activities were conducted to support the successful implementation of the NIPUN/FLN Mission.
• Day 3 – Wednesday, July 24, 2024: Sports Day – Competitions were organised for different grades. Students actively participated in indigenous games and sports organized at the school.
• Day 4 – Thursday, July 25, 2024: Cultural Day – Events were arranged to promote unity and diversity among students.
• Day 5 – Friday, July 26, 2024: Skilling and Digital Initiatives Day – Emphasis was placed on understanding the evolving job market, new skill requirements, and digital initiatives to enhance classroom experiences.
• Day 6 – Saturday, July 27, 2024: Eco Clubs & Mission Life Day – New Eco Clubs were established, and a plantation drive under the #Plant4Mother initiative was conducted. A minimum of 35 saplings of different varieties were planted in each school.
• Day 7 – Sunday, July 28, 2024: Community Involvement Day – Activities included Tithi Bhojan and Vidyanjali to enhance collaboration with local communities and support socio-emotional well-being.
The objectives of "Shiksha Saptah" were to empower students and educators with knowledge and opportunities, celebrating the achievements of NEP 2020.
Schools followed guidelines such as hosting daily events, conducting grade-specific activities as per instructions, and compiling and submitting event data to the Block and District offices.
The District Education Office promptly submitted a compiled report to the head office. Sub-Division and Block level officers, BRCC, and CRCC also visited the schools during this period to monitor and provide onsite support for organising the program.
The Chief Education Office extends gratitude to all stakeholders for their active participation and organisation of the events, contributing to the success of "Shiksha Saptah" in Pakyong District.
