LIMBOO APEX ASSOCIATION SYSS MOURNS ON PASSING AWAY OF ITS FOUNDING PRESIDENT P.M SUBBA.
Sukhim Yakthung Sapsok Songchumbho held an emergency meeting on 27.06
2024 at Yakthung Him DPH Gangtok to mourn on passing away of its founding President Late Pahal Man Subba who passed away on 27.06.2024 at Manipal Hospital at Gangtok.
The meeting started with observing two minutes of silence for the departed soul. President of the Association C.S Limboo highlighted the life history and the contribution made by Late President P.M Subba. He said that P.M. Subba was the man behind the formation of the Limboo Apex Association in Sikkim- SYSS. His major contributions to the Limboo community as President of SYSS were
1. Registration of SYSS Apex Limbo
2. Recognition of Limbu language as one of the State Languages in the year 19
2. Inclusion of Limboos along with other communities of Sikkim in the list of Other Backward Classes.
3. Inclusion of Limboo language in CBSE for Class X and XII along with Bhutia Lepcha
4. Allocation site for Yakthung Him at DPH Road Gangtok.
5. To initiative to start a programme in Limboo at All India Radio Gangtok Station.
6. As MP he submitted Memorandums to all the MPs in the Lower House and Upper House of the Parliament demanding ST status to the Sikkimese Limboo community.
President said that the sudden passing away of Shri PM Subba is an irreparable loss for the whole of Sikkimese. The meeting prays that the departed soul of its founding President is in a heavenly abode with peace.SYSS extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and loved ones of Late PM Subba.
