In view of the landslides and damage caused by the incessant rains, disrupting connectivity and communication in Mangan district, SDM Chungthang Mr Kiran Thatal convened a meeting at Lachung, today. The main agenda of the meeting was the evacuation process of the tourists.
Present at the meeting were BDO Chungthang, Pipon Lachung and hotel owners. It was decided that the tourists would be accommodated at the hotels and food would be provided at nominal rate. Further, in case of any inconvenience, the tourists have been directed to report to Lachung Police Station.
Subsequently in case of shortage of ration, it was stated that civil administration would look into the matter. In this regard, an order vide Memo No. 61/DC(M)/2024-2024 dated 16.06.2024 US 65 of Disaster Management Act 2005 has been issued.
