subsidised loan to the farmers

Gangtok, May 27: (IPR) With an objective to provide subsidised loan to the farmers, Hon'ble Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Shri Lok Nath Sharma convened a meeting with the General Manager and Office-in-Charge, Reserve Bank of India (Sikkim State) Shri Ravindra Sangvai and Assistant General Manager Shri I.Y.T. Namchu at his chamber at Tashiling Secretariat, today.
The Minister Sharma took detailed banking provision to release subsidised loan to the farmers of Sikkim. He informed about increasing interest of the farmers in the field of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and allied sectors corresponding with the variety of loans catering to different needs by the banks with regard to Dairy, Poultry, Piggery, Fisheries, Kishan Credit Card (KCC), Mudra Loan etc. He also asked to address the disposal of the applications submitted by the farmers in various banks at the earliest. The Minister also urged to finance Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), cooperatives , and to organize credit camps for farmers, issue of Kishan Credit Card and to resolve the pending issues.
General Manager Shri Sangvai also assured to extend full-cooperation to increase agricultural and various livestock loan schemes to benefit the farmers.
During the meeting, it was also decided to hold a meeting with the bankers on 2nd June 2020 to formulate a comprehensive plan for the benefits of the farmers at large
