Yuksam-Dubdi Gram panchayat gets official website
Gyalshing, December 8 (IPR): Yuksam-Dubdi Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) officially launched its website in a launch ceremony held at the Yuksam Gram Prashasan Kendra on December 7. The website was developed with the technical support of the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore, and Khangchendzonga Conservation Committee (KCC), Sikkim.
The brief launching event was graced by Mr Ds Limboo Zilla Adakshya Gyalshing as the Chief guest, who officially launched the website.
Present at the ceremony were Ms Tshering Uden Bhutia KCC President, Ms Sunita Limboo Panchayat President, Panchayat members Ms Dhan Maya Limboo, Ms Sabitri Chettri, Mr Suna Hang Limboo, Mr Kinzong Sherap Bhutia KCC board member, former panchayat SK Limboo alongside delegates from NIE Singapore and local gentry.
During the launch, the KCC president provided an overview of the website's development process and its importance in the digital era. The website is expected to serve as a valuable platform for disseminating crucial information and promoting initiatives of the gram Panchayats.
The event also included the presentation of a proposed Biodiversity Park for Yuksam, envisioned by KCC as part of an ecotourism initiative. The project envisions creating a bird paradise, eco-friendly glass cafes, botanical gardens, and sustainable hiking trails. This development aims to position Yuksam as an ecotourism hub, enhancing its tourism prospects while preserving its natural heritage. This initiative is aimed at promoting sustainable tourism and enhancing the region’s economic prospects.
Mr Kinzong Sherap Bhutia, KCC board member, expressed gratitude to the NIE Singapore team for their collaborative efforts and contributions. He highlighted the potential of the biodiversity park in boosting tourism and sustainability, ensuring the economic growth of Yuksam.
Mr Ds Limboo Zilla Adakshya Gyalshing commended the efforts and assured the state government's support for the ambitious project. "The Biodiversity Park is a visionary project that will transform Yuksam into an ecotourism hub while promoting sustainability and economic development," he stated.
Earlier,the event began with a warm welcome address by Ms Sunita Limboo Panchayat President and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Khabindra Gurung Sr VAA Yuksam-Dubdi GPU.
