World Sight Day observed with free eye camp at DAC Pakyong
Pakyong, October 09 (IPR): A day-long free eye camp was organised by the Greater Lions Club Hospital, Siliguri to observe World Sight Day at the premises of the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Pakyong, today.
The camp aimed to make eye care accessible to the staff of DAC, facilitate early detection and raise public awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups and maintaining healthy vision.
During the camp, free eye check-ups and consultations were provided, along with the distribution of medicines and spectacles. Screening for cataracts was also conducted, and referrals for further treatment were made where necessary.
A medical team from the Club carried out the screenings and offered guidance on eye care and preventive measures. World Sight Day is observed annually to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining healthy vision.
