Date: 21-Mar-2026
Gangtok, March 21(IPR): As a part of the Sikkim International Film Festival, World Premiere of the Doko Ko Chahari short film was screened at Chintan Bhawan today.
Doko ko Chahari, directed by Mr Sujan Lamjel, had bagged the first prize in the Short Film Competition at the Sikkim International Film Festival, 2026.
The short film Doko Ko Chahari follows the journey of Anish, a dreamy 13-year-old boy.
Worried about his future, his struggling parents try to discipline him and his father narrates a frightening tale of a Forest Shaman. As imagination and reality blur, Anish is pulled into a journey shaped by fear, poverty, and the need for guidance.
With a tightly woven narrative and a compact yet impactful plot, the film maintains a steady emotional intensity, allowing each scene to build meaningfully on the next.
Its restrained storytelling creates a lasting impression,
drawing viewers into Anish’s inner world, leaving them with a poignant reflection on childhood, vulnerability and hope.
