Training on Panchayat Development Plan Conducted in Mangan

A training session on the Panchayat Development Plan (PDP) was held today at the Mangan District Zilla Panchayat (MDZP) Conference Hall, Pentok. The programme was organised by the State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (SIRD&PR) in collaboration with MDZP.
The event was attended by Zilla Adhakshya Mr Kado Lepcha, SIRD Dy Dir Mr C B Manger, District Planning Officer Mr Karma Thendup Bhutia, District Engineer R.D. Lepcha, all Zilla Panchayat members,pipons and officials, including ADs, RDAs, VAAs, PDAs, and PAAs of the district.
The primary aim of the training was to provide participants with a clear understanding of the implementation in close coordination with the preparation of the District Panchayat Development Plan (DPDP) and Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP).
The Zilla Adhakshya, in his address, thanked the attendees for their participation and expressed hope that the session would help clarify doubts and address queries. He emphasised the importance of shifting from demand-based planning to need-based planning, stating that this approach would enable better alignment of resources with actual requirements.
A detailed presentation on the steps involved in preparing a District Development Plan was delivered by the SIRD Dy Dir Mr C B Manger. The session highlighted the importance of adhering to established procedures for effective district-level planning.
District Panchayat Coordinator Karma Lepcha provided an overview of the technical aspects of both GPDP and DPDP. The meeting also discussed issues such as the connectivity between Ward Panchayats and Zilla members. Participants stressed the need for enhanced coordination and collective efforts to ensure the district's development objectives are achieved efficiently.
Further DPO Zilla Mr Karma Thendup Bhutia requested all the participants to follow the schedule of GPDP and DPDP planning Gram Sabha meticulously.
