Tourism Minister Mr Tshering T Bhutia graces I-Day football tournament at Kyongsa Stadium
Gyalshing, August 14 (IPR): Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation, Commerce & Industries and Food Processing, Mr Tshering T Bhutia, graced the ongoing district-level Independence Day celebration at Kyongsa Stadium, Gyalshing, today.
The district-level Independence Day celebrations are being organised with a Men's Open Football Tournament and various patriotic and cultural programmes by the Independence Day Celebration Committee (Yangthang United), in collaboration with the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Gyalshing District.
Minister for building & housing and labour departments, Mr Bhim Hang Limboo, Chairman, RDD, Mr Narayan Khatiwada, District Collector, Gyalshing, Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa, Additional Chief Engineer, Power Department, Gyalshing District, Ms KSC Tongden, along with Heads of Departments and officials from various departments of Gyalshing district, were also present on the occasion.
As part of the celebration, a friendly football match was played between the MLA Yuksam-Tashiding team and the MLA Yangthang team. Yuksam-Tashiding team emerged victorious with a convincing 3-0 win.
A major highlight of the day was the final of the Inter-School Football Tournament, organised as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The final was played between Damber Singh Government Senior Secondary School and Government Senior Secondary School, Sakyong. Damber Singh Government Senior Secondary School emerged champions, defeating Sakyong with a 4-2 scoreline.
The celebrations were further enlivened by cultural presentations by students from various schools across Gyalshing district.
