Three-Day Poultry Farming Training Programme Concludes in SIRD Karfectar

Soreng, February 19 (IPR):
A comprehensive three-day training programme on poultry farming successfully concluded today at the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) in Karfectar.
The training organised by the Soreng District Administration in collaboration with the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Department (AH&VS), Soreng, and funded by the North East Council, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India, was held from 17th to 19th February 2025.
The three day training programme was attended by a total of 300 beneficiaries from Mabong-Segeng, Gelling-Baiguney, Samsing Pipaley, and Zoom GPU, with 100 participants on each day.
The inaugural session commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Kunzang P. Bhutia (Joint Director, AH&VS, Soreng). The chief guest, Mrs Pramila Gurung, Block Development Officer (BDO) Baiguney, highlighted the significance of the scheme and its potential benefits for the participants. The event also saw the esteemed presence of Panchayat members of the respective GPUs.
Throughout the three days, participants were engaged in informative sessions on various aspects of poultry farming:
Introduction to Poultry Industry by Dr. Roshan Pirthawar, Deputy Director, Mangalbaria.
Poultry Management by Dr. Shanti Ram Chettri, Veterinary Officer, Anden.
Common Diseases, Symptoms, Prevention & Control by Dr. Sharin Gurung, Veterinary Officer, Soreng.
The training programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Churamani Sharma, Veterinary Officer, Rinchenpong. The Master of Ceremony for the event was Mrs Ambika A. Pradhan (ADDO, Soreng).
This training initiative is a significant step towards enhancing the knowledge and skills of poultry farmers in the region, contributing to the overall development of the poultry industry and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for the beneficiaries.
