The celebration of good governance day organized at Soreng District
Soreng, December 23(IPR):
To mark the celebration of good governance day, the District Administration, Soreng organised a workshop programme at Rurban Complex Hall, wherein the overview of the state and central schemes that were initiated, implemented and ongoing throughout the district within the year were presented and discussed via a power point presentation by the Information Technology Department and the Health and Family Welfare Department.
On that note the department of ‘Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances’, with the theme ‘’Sushasan Saptah - Prashasan Gaon ki Ore’’ has organised a special campaign which commenced from the 19th of December till the 24th of December which is aimed at fostering good governance with the active participation and support from both the state and central government departments and accordingly in relevance to that special camps for Grievance Redressals were setup in the premises of Rurban complex and simultaneously at Daramdin and Mangalbaria BACs by the constituted teams of district administration officials today.
Present in the event were Mr Dhiraj Subedi (District Collector), Mr DR Bista (ADM), Mr Sunny Kharel (SDM), Mr BB Rai (RO/AD LR/DM) and HODs of respective Departments, other line department officials and scheme beneficiaries.
Mr Dhiraj Subedi (DC) addressed the gathering by welcoming everyone present. He briefed on the outreach of the programme along with the setup of the campaign with its schemes and services . Further emphasising on the impact of the scheme and services that are provided. He then intimated that a similar programme had already been initiated in the district and that this programme by the central government had boosted the overall impact of the outreach .
Earlier the programme commenced by Mr Sunny Kharel (SDM) briefing the gathering about the programmes objective and goals. He then discussed three key attributes of good governance such as Transparency, Accountability and Participatory, which ensures good governance. Further he expressed that through this programme campaign more people are aware and reached out to.
Thereon a Short Film on the initiatives that have been carried out in the entire district was presented.
Further a presentation was delivered by Mr Amir Bhandari (AD Information Technology Department) on the recently launched e-services regarding the facts and figures of its functioning along with the services that are offered in the portal. He Intimated the use of the single window portal SIKKIM GO for availing e services.
Thereafter Dr Nerolene Subba (MOIC, Health & Family Welfare Department ) Presented an overview of the health care schemes and services along with its benefits and goals of it in the long run. She discussed on points regarding the stigma around various diseases such as Leprosy and Tuberculosis and the relevant schemes and services that are catering to curb its effects. Further she stated the challenges faced which are constantly trying to be resolved along with the achievements and the health care promotional campaigns.
The programme concluded by a vote of thanks conveyed by Mr B B Rai (RO/AD LR&DM).
