The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting for Gyalshing District
Gyalshing, May 25 (IPR):The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Gyalshing District was convened today at the Conference Hall of Zilla Panchayat Bhawan, Kyongsa.
The meeting was chaired by Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha-cum-Chairman, DISHA, Dr. Indra Hang Subba, in the presence of MLA Gyalshing-Bermiok, Mr. Lok Nath Sharma.
The meeting was attended by Zilla Adhyaksha, Gyalshing, Mr. D.S. Limboo; District Collector-cum-Member Secretary, DISHA, Mr. Tenzing D. Denzongpa; Upa- Adhyaksha Gyalshing, Ms Anita Rai; Chairman, RDD, Mr. Narayan Khatiwara; ADC (HQ), Ms. Tripti Hangma Subba; ADC- Gyalshing Suresh Rai, ADC (Development) Mr. Surat Gurung; Director- Sikkim Renewable Energy Development Agency (SREDA), Mr. Jiwan Thapa; All SDMs; All BDOs; All Zilla Panchayat members; All Panchayat members; DISHA members; and All HoDs under Gyalshing district.
As part of the proceedings, all Heads of Departments delivered department-wise presentations through PowerPoint presentations on various flagship schemes and projects, highlighting the status and progress of implementation across the district.
The meeting commenced with opening remarks by the District Collector-cum-Member Secretary, DISHA, Gyalshing, who underlined the importance of conducting such meetings to assess necessary interventions for strengthening the functioning of the committee. He stated that these meetings are crucial for enhancing efficiency and addressing issues hindering the aspirations and objectives of the committee.
A comprehensive department-wise review of the previous DISHA meeting was also undertaken during the session.
The house thoroughly deliberated upon various issues and bottlenecks affecting the progress and implementation of developmental schemes and projects. Discussions were held on proactive measures and strategies to address these challenges through coordinated efforts between public representatives and departmental officials.
In his address, the Member of Parliament appreciated the innovative initiatives undertaken by the District Collector and lauded his efforts in leading the district towards new heights of development.
The Chairperson encouraged all departmental heads, BDOs, and officials to execute schemes and developmental projects in close coordination with Gram Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat members. He reiterated his commitment to extending support and guidance whenever required and emphasized the importance of collective efforts for the holistic development of the district.
He further stressed the need for proper monitoring of developmental works at all levels to ensure that the rural populace receives maximum benefits from sanctioned projects and facilities. Highlighting the importance of inter-departmental coordination and cooperation among elected representatives, he urged departments to work with greater efficiency, maintain quality standards, and cross-check data with their counterparts to ensure authenticity and accuracy.
The welcome address was delivered by ADC (HQ), Ms. Tripti Hangma Subba, who welcomed all dignitaries and participants and appreciated the efforts of the organising committee.
Earlier during the programme, the house witnessed the presentation of an Appreciation Letter to the Panchayat President and members of Yangthang GPU for winning the “Model Solar Village” award under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
Additionally, the Panchayat President of Gyalshing Omchung GPU was honoured for securing the National Award under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar on the theme “Poverty Free & Enhanced Livelihood Panchayat,” achieving third rank for the year 2025. The award carried a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakhs along with a certificate of recognition.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
