The 71st All India Cooperative Week Launched at Sahakari Bhawan
Gangtok, November 14 (IPR):
The 71st All India Cooperative Week, themed "Role of Cooperatives in Building Viksit Bharat," commenced today at Sahakari Bhawan in Tadong, Gangtok.
The event was organized by the Cooperation Department, Government of Sikkim. The ceremony began with the assembling of officers and staff, including Principal Registrar and Registrar officials.
The Secretary of the Cooperation Department, Ms Gloria Namchu, hoisted the Cooperative Flag, formally inaugurating the week-long celebrations at the premises of the Cooperation Department in Tadong.
During the event, the Secretary of the Cooperation Department read out a message from the Governor of Sikkim, Mr Om Prakash Mathur. This was followed by the reading of a message from the Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, delivered by Principal Registrar, Cooperation Department, Ms Jabi Thapa. Additionally, Registrar, Cooperation Department, Ms Karma Ongmu, presented a message from the Minister of Cooperation, Mr Arun Kumar Upreti.
Registrar, Cooperation Department, Ms Pema Ongmu, then elaborated on the ten core values and seven principles of the cooperative movement, emphasizing the need for unity and collaboration to drive economic progress.
Following this, Registrar, Cooperation Department, Mr Raj Pradhan, discussed the day-wise themes for the 71st Cooperative Week, setting the stage for various awareness programs scheduled to be held across the state.
The event witnessed active participation from officials and staff of the Cooperation Department, along with other distinguished guests.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Additional Registrar, Cooperation Department, Mr Penba Tshering Lepcha.
The ceremony ended on a spirited note with the slogan, "Sahakari Ko Jai Hos," resonating among the attendees.
