State Day at Chintan Bhawan

The function was graced by Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Ganga Prasad as the Chief Guest and Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang as the Guest of Honour.
The function had the presence of Hon'ble Deputy Speaker SLA, Hon'ble Ministers, Hon'ble MLAs, Hon'ble MP Lok Sabha, Hon'ble Mayor GMC, Chief Secretary, DGP, Heads of Departments, and senior officers of the State Government.
On their arrival, the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour offered garlands and paid rich tribute to the statue of Padma Vibhushan Late Kazi Lhendup Dorji Khangsarpa, the first Chief Minister of Sikkim and the father of democracy in Sikkim.
All the dignitaries present offered khadas on the statue of Late L.D. Kazi.
Every year, on the 16th of May, the State of Sikkim celebrates State Day, as it was on this day in 1975 that Sikkim became the 22nd State of the Indian Union.
Keeping the present situation of the Covid-19 pandemic and social distancing protocol into consideration, this year, the State level function was shortened and restricted to the outdoors
