Special Intensive Revision Notice Hearings Continue Across Gangtok District

Gangtok, July 20 (IPR): Notice hearings under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls continued across Gangtok District today, in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. The exercise is being carried out to verify electoral records, examine claims and objections, and ensure lawful disposal of cases through due process.
A total of 1,818 notice hearings were conducted across various Assembly Constituencies of Gangtok District, as detailed below:
* 16-Tumen-Lingi Assembly Constituency: 95 hearings
* 17-Khamdong-Singtam Assembly Constituency: 152 hearings
* 23-Shyari Assembly Constituency: 478 hearings
* 24-Martam-Rumtek Assembly Constituency: 174 hearings
* 25-Upper Tadong Assembly Constituency: 457 hearings
* 26-Arithang Assembly Constituency: No hearings conducted
* 27-Gangtok Assembly Constituency: 300 hearings
* 28-Upper Burtuk Assembly Constituency: 162 hearings
* 32-Sangha Assembly Constituency: No hearings conducted
The notice hearing process under the Special Intensive Revision will continue in a phased and sequential manner across the remaining polling parts and Assembly Constituencies of Gangtok District. Conducted in accordance with the provisions and guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the exercise aims to ensure that electoral rolls remain accurate, transparent and up to date through due verification and lawful disposal of cases, thereby safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.
