Soreng District Observes “International Day of Yoga 2025” with “Yoga Sangam”
Soreng, June 21 (IPR): Soreng District observed the “International Day of Yoga 2025”, with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, at the Indoor Gymnasium Hall, Jautar, Soreng, today.
Organised by the AYUSH Division of Soreng PHC, under the National AYUSH Mission, Health and Family Welfare Department, in collaboration with the District Administration Soreng and Sports & Youth Affairs Department Soreng.
District Collector (Soreng) Mr Dhiraj Subedi, SDM (Soreng) Ms Sakchum Lepcha, Head of Departments and Head of Offices, staff and students participated in a Yoga Sangam, to mark the occasion as well as to promote the message of health, harmony, and inner peace.
District Collector (Soreng) in his address, informed that the day has been celebrated since 2014, following its adoption by the United Nations. Emphasising the benefits of yoga in both career and daily life, he urged everyone to practice yoga regularly for overall well being of individuals.
The yoga session was conducted by Yoga Instructor Mrs Darshika Sharma, wherein she guided the participants while also explaining the benefits of each practice throughout.
