Sixth Day of Election Update- Gangtok District
Gangtok, March 28 (IPR): On the sixth day of filing of nominations for the General Municipal Elections 2026 under Gangtok District, no nomination papers were filed from any of the 21 wards under the Gangtok Municipal Corporation (GMC) and 5 wards under the Singtam Nagar Panchayat.
The District Administrative Centre (DAC), Gangtok, remained open today for the filing and receipt of nomination papers to facilitate candidates for the Municipality Elections 2026.
Despite no nominations being filed, the overall process was conducted smoothly under the supervision of the concerned election authorities.
It is further informed that nomination filing will remain closed on Sunday. The last date for submission of nomination papers is March 30, 2026, while scrutiny of nominations will be carried out on April 1, 2026.
