Sewa Pakhwada Celebration: Distribution of Benefits to Beneficiaries

During the Sewa Pakhwada Celebration held at the Utsav Plaza in the Swarna Jayanti Maitreya Manjari Park, the Governor of Sikkim Mr Om Prakash Mathur and the Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang, distributed various benefits to beneficiaries under the following departments:
Urban Development Department
Felicitation of Safai Mitra working in seven urban local bodies: 75 Safai Mitras from seven urban local bodies were nominated for the felicitation programme on the occasion of the rollout of the Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign-2025, with the following receiving felicitation today,

Handing Over of Desludging Vehicle Keys to MEOs: the desludging vehicles have been procured and handed over to the Urban Local Bodies under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). The vehicles will not only provide desludging service to the households, but they will also bring revenue to the ULBs. The keys were handed over to:
-Mangan Nagar Panchayat- received by Mr Karzong Bhutia, Municipal Executive Officer, Mangan Nagar Panchayat
-Namchi Municipal Council- received by Mr Rajiv Rai, Municipal Executive Officer, Namchi Municipal Council.
Handing over of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya cards - Under NAMASTE Scheme of Urban Development Department, PMJAY Insurance cards were handed over to three Sewer line and Septic Tank Workers-(SSWs) enabling them to avail Health benefits upto Rs 5 Lakh

Handing over of blueprints and keys to the completed units under Sikkim Urban Garib Awas Yojana (SUGAY) amounting to Rs 19,37,000. The following received the benefits on stage:

Labour Department
A total of 10,000 workers benefited from financial assistance under the BOCW Welfare Scheme. During the ceremony, 10 workers from the Roads & Bridges Department were handed cheques of Rs 10,000 each, representing the larger distribution:

Social Welfare Department
Handing over of Cash Prize to Awardees under Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan Award- In May 2025, the Social Welfare Department conducted an ‘essay and poetry competition’ (open category) in both Nepali and English as well as ‘Healing through Talent Competition’ for the patients of Rehab Centres under the banner of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Each winner of the Poem and Essay competition in each category were handed over a cash prize of ₹10,000 each and a certificate. The winners are as follows:
