SSB Siliguri Frontier Headquarters Celebrates “Bharat Raksha Parv”

In a moving tribute to the brave hearts safeguarding India’s borders, the “Bharat Raksha Parv” was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the SSB Siliguri Frontier Headquarters, Ranidanga.
The event was graced by the presence of Governor of Sikkim, Mr Om Prakash Mathur, who participated in the celebration and extended heartfelt appreciation to the soldiers and organisers.
Organised under the banner of “Bharat Raksha Parv”, a programme initiated by Dainik Jagran and conducted for the past two decades, the event honors the selfless service of jawans stationed at the borders. This year’s celebration was led by Dainik Jagran North Bengal & Sikkim Edition on Tuesday, August 5.
The ceremony witnessed the tying of Rakhis to the Governor by women personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and students from GD Goenka School, Siliguri, and Techno India Group World School. They also presented handmade Raksha Bandhan greeting cards and Raksha packets prepared especially for the soldiers posted on the frontlines.
In a warm gesture, Governor Mr Om Prakash Mathur distributed sweet packets to the students and women SSB personnel, conveying his blessings and appreciation for their heartfelt participation. He lauded the efforts of Dainik Jagran and SSB for organising such a meaningful initiative that strengthens the bond between citizens and security forces.
The event was attended by Inspector General Vandan Saxena, senior SSB officers, and jawans, who expressed gratitude for the support and love shown by the civil society, especially the younger generation.
The ceremony concluded with a lunch programme and a formal vote of thanks extended by the Governor, marking the event as a symbol of unity, patriotism, and emotional connection with the forces protecting the nation.
