SDM Jorethang chairs coordination meeting with Executives of South-West Mainline Taxi Driver's Welfare Association (SWTDWA), Jorethang Local Taxi Driver's Welfare Association (JLTDWA) and Jorethang Truck Driver's Welfare Association (JTDWA).
Namchi, June 23 (IPR):
Sub Divisional Magistrate Jorethang Mr Yogen Syangden chaired a coordination meeting with the executives of SWTDWA, JLTDWA and JTDWA at the chamber of the SDM Jorethang today.
The meeting commenced with the SDM welcoming all participants present for the meeting breifing them about the agenda of the programme. Further the SDM briefed the executives that the notifications/orders/circulars of the government should be complied with strict adherence.
He also urged the executives to brief their members about behaving politely and humbly with the passengers and following the traffic safety rules by the concerned drivers during their travels. He also urged them in taking charge of notifying the officials and law enforcement about any illegal activities regarding drug peddling and acting as a source of information in providing clues to the officials and law enforcers and staying vigilant about any suspicious activities inside their vehicles.
Further, the SDM also urged the executives about undertaking combined awareness campaigns and programmes in relation to any schemes or occassions for the general mass and also talked about the positive use of social media and the use of the platform for bringing various positive reforms in the public sphere.
Following up with the SDM, ASP Traffic Ms Jyoti Chettri, also urged all the executives to aware their members about the traffic safety rules and follow them earnestly to maintain a safe environment for the pedesterians and the drivers alike. She also urged the drivers to cooperate and maintain a healthy relation with the traffic personnel for combined effort towards maintaining safer space for all.
In his short address, SDPO Jorethang Mr Kesang Bhutia talked about the importance of maintaining proper documents for all commercial vehicles emphasising that proper documentation leads to avoidance of complications and hassle in case of any emergencies and accidental scenarios.
Further SDPO also briefed about the anti-drug campaign initiated by SSP Namchi and appealed each and everyone to provide their active support towards the campaign assisting the law enforcers to combat the menace in the society.
Sharing the helpline number 90462-45044, the SDPO urged the public to use the number to provide Information about drug related activites and contributing to make Jorethang drug free.
MVI, Mr I K Chetrri also urged the participants to make every members aware about timely renewal of documents related with vehicles and also urged them to physically maintain the documents with them at all times to avoid paying fines due to carelessness.
The meeting also saw positive feedback from the executives and the participants and also provided their assurance towards cooperation in all the matters discussed during the course of the meeting.
The meeting also had the presence of MEO Jorethang Mr Dilip Dong, SHO Jorethang PI Mr Umesh Pradhan, Executive Presidents and members of SWTDWA, JLTDWA and JTDWA.
