Gyalshing, September 14 (IPR): Following uncertain rainfall during the night, officials from the District  Administration conducts a field visit today to assess the situation at the active landslide site at Rimbi and review the safety of residents in the affected and vulnerable areas.
The field visit was attended by officials of the District Administration comprising of SDM (Gyalshing) Mr Bhawesh Khyalia, IAS; DPO DDMA Mr Ganesh Kumar Rai; DD cum RO, LR&DMD, Yuksom, Mr Amrit Raj Rai; DE (Roads) Santosh Singh; Panchayat President Mr Mangal Rai and Pachayat Members; and members of the public from Rimbi village.
In view of the prevailing ground situation and the possibility of further landslide activity, the District Administration has decided to establish a relief camp at GPK Rimbi-Timbrong for the safety and temporary accommodation of affected and vulnerable families.
Essential relief materials and other necessary items will be provided in accordance with the prescribed SDRF guidelines and applicable relief norms.
The situation is being closely monitored, and necessary precautionary and response measures will be undertaken as required. Residents have been advised to remain alert and follow the instructions issued by the District Administration.
