Rhenock block Self-Help Group (SHG) elects its Block Development Society (BDS)
Pakyong, 20 June (IPR): The Election for Block Development Society (BDS) of the Self-Help Group (SHG) in Rhenock block was held today at the Block Administrative Centre (BAC) in Rhenock.
Following the Annual General Meeting convened among all 24 Ward Development Societies (WDS), the positions of President, Secretary, and Treasurer for the term of 202 to 2024 within the BDS were declared dissolved by the Block Programme Manager (BPM).
Subsequently, an election committee was formed and the election process was carried out in a transparent and impartial manner.
The newly elected members of the BDS for the upcoming three-year term (2024 - 2027) are as follows:
1. Mrs. Pramila Sharma: President
2. Mrs. Leela Chettri: Secretary (Ran unopposed)
3. Mrs. Sisham Chettri: Treasurer
The participation and engagement of the SHG members and community representatives in the electoral process demonstrate a commitment to collective decision-making and the advancement of local initiatives.
As the newly appointed President, Secretary, and Treasurer assume their roles, they embark on a journey towards fostering collaboration, inclusivity, and sustainable progress within the Block Development Society.
