Review Meeting Held on Functionality and Progress of SBM-G Assets in Pakyong District.
Pakyong, December 10 (IPR): A review meeting on Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen (SBM-G) and the functionality of SBM-G assets under Pakyong District was chaired by the DC, Pakyong, Mr Rohan Agawane, at the Conference Hall of the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Pakyong, today.
During the meeting, issues raised by the Joint Secretary and Mission Director, SBM-G, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Government of India, Ms Aishwarya Singh, regarding Community Sanitary Complexes (CSCs), duplication of assets and functionality status of infrastructure created under SBM-G were discussed.
The meeting also discussed the Progress Report for 2025-26, including the functionality status and total number of SBM-G assets in the district, such as Waste Management Units (WMU), Community Sanitary Complexes (CSC), Segregation Sheds, Resources Recovery Village (RRV) units, and other facilities constructed under SBM-G.
Further, the pending works under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) were reviewed and Block Development Officers highlighted various issues concerning implementation under MGNREGA in convergence with SBM-G and JJM works.
The status of the District Water & Sanitation Monitoring Committee under JJM was also reviewed, and progress of ongoing works across all blocks was discussed. Issues related to coordination with NHIDCL and shortage of construction materials were also raised during the meeting.
DC Pakyong, taking note of all the concerns, directed the concerned officials to ensure timely completion of the ongoing works and to make all SBM-G and JJM assets functional at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by ADC (Dev), Pakyong, Mr RB Bhandari, along with BDOs Pakyong, Rhenock, Duga and Namcheybong, DE Zilla, AE and block coordinators SBM-G.
