Review Learning Workshop on HRDP–Simana Sikkim Held at Pakyong

Pakyong, November 04 (IPR): A review learning workshop(2025-2026) to assess the progress and discuss upcoming activities under the Holistic Rural Development Programme (HRDP) – Simana Sikkim was held today at the Rurban Community Complex of the Rural Development Department, Pakyong.
The programme, implemented by Citizens Foundation with support from HDFC Bank Parivartan, is being carried out across 19 villages in Pakyong District. The workshop aimed to review the achievements made under the initiative and to plan future interventions for sustainable rural development in the district.
The event was attended by Zilla Upadhakshya, Ms Prabha Pradhan, as the chief guest. Also present were ADC (HQ) Pakyong, Mr Sabindra Rai; ADC (Dev) Mr RB Bhandari; Zilla Panchayats; Panchayats members; BDOs Pakyong, Parakha and Rhenock; along with representatives from Citizens Foundation and HDFC Bank Parivartan.
Zilla Upadhakshya, in her address, applauded the efforts of Citizens Foundation in strengthening rural development at the village level in Pakyong District and expressed gratitude to HDFC Bank Parivartan for their support.
She further emphasised that such projects contribute significantly to empowering rural citizens through community-based initiatives and shared her suggestions for the effective implementation of upcoming activities under the project.
During the session, Zilla Panchayat Amba, Dr Subadra Dhangal; Zilla Panchayat Phademchen, Ms Dawa Choden Bhutia; and Panchayat Lower Berkmong Ward, Mr DB Chettri, shared their reviews on the progress achieved in their respective GPUs and discussed the proposed activities to be undertaken in the coming years.
Project Manager, HRDP–Simana Sikkim, Citizens Foundation, Ms Sangita Dahal, gave a detailed presentation on the project, highlighting its thematic areas which include livelihood enhancement and skill training, education, financial literacy and inclusion, natural resource management and health and hygiene. She also briefed the participants on the objectives of the HRDP–Simana project and outlined the activities planned and completed for the year 2024–25.
