PMJAY Card Saturation Camp at 33- Siktam- Tikpur GPU, Soreng District

The Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim, conducted a PMJAY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) Card Saturation Camp-cum-Ayushman Shivir in association with the  Tikpur  Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) at 33-Siktam Tikpur GPU, Soreng District, on 27th November 2025, under the guidance of Dr Namgay Bhutia, CMO, Soreng/ Gyalshing district.
The outreach drive focused particularly on senior citizens above 70 years of age and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration card holders, ensuring priority access to PMJAY benefits for vulnerable sections of the community.
The program was graced by Shri Birman Subba, Hon’ble President, who attended as the Chief Guest, along with other  Hon' ble  Panchayat members, Siktam -Tikpur GPU.
Shri Ongdi Sherpa, BDO, Daramdin, was also present as a Special Guest.
Shri I. K. Chhetri, District Health Education Officer (DHEO), District Hospital Gyalshing, addressed the gathering and spoke about the key benefits and eligibility provisions under the PMJAY scheme, emphasizing the importance of health insurance coverage for the target groups.
During the camp, more than 40 beneficiaries successfully received their PMJAY cards, enabling them to access health insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary hospitalisation.
The Health Department has initiated the large-scale PMJAY card-making process across all districts of Sikkim, ensuring that all eligible citizens can benefit from this flagship health assurance initiative of the Government of India.
