Preliminary Meeting on Municipal Elections 2026 Held in Soreng
Soreng, March 23 (IPR): District Collector Soreng Mr Dhiraj Subedi, chaired a preliminary meeting pertaining to the Municipal Elections 2026 at the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Soreng, today.
During the meeting, various agendas related to the Municipal Elections 2026 were discussed in detail. Key topics included home voting arrangements, ballot papers, vulnerability mapping, transportation, storage, and venue management for different election purposes. Also, election-related matters were thoroughly reviewed by the officials present.
Additionally, ADC (Soreng) Mr DR Bista outlined the roles and responsibilities of nodal officers assigned to various duties during the election process.
The DC urged all officials to carry out their responsibilities with utmost seriousness and emphasised the importance of proper coordination for the smooth conduct of the election. He also highlighted other critical issues related to the election process.
Further, the concerned department was directed to identify and collect data on individuals aged 85 and above and as well as Persons with Disabilities (PwD). The collected data will be forwarded to the Booth Level Officers (BLO) for verification.
Also present at the meeting were ASP (Soreng) Mr Parsu Ram Sharma, SDM (HQ) Mr Prem K Subba, Principal (PM SHRI GSS Soreng) Dr. PB Chhetri, Deputy RTO Mr Basant Kumar Chettri, SHO (Soreng) Mr Santa Bahadur Gurung, BDO (Soreng) Mr Paru Hang Subba, BDO (Chumbung) Mr Ram Kumar Gurung, AD (Election Cell) Mr Mani Kumar Gurung, AD (IT) Mr Amir Bhandari and officials and staff from Election Cell (Soreng).
