Paragliding Adventure Adds Thrill to Sikkim Adventure Tourism Fest 2026
Pakyong, November 02 (IPR): As part of the Relay Adventure Package of the Sikkim Adventure Tourism Fest 2026, a paragliding adventure experience was conducted across designated locations under Pakyong District, offering participants an opportunity to experience the thrill of aerial adventure amidst the scenic landscapes of Sikkim.
The first sortie, comprising 20 participants from different parts of the country, embarked on a scenic helicopter journey from Gangtok to Greenfield Pakyong Airport, offering them panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan terrain.
Upon arrival, participants proceeded to the designated paragliding location at Thumki Dara, wherein paragliding flights were conducted with the necessary equipment and safety arrangements in place.
Following the aerial experience, participants landed at Rorathang and were safely transported to Rangpo, where they will experience river rafting before proceeding to the main festival venue at Linkhim Tar, Namthang, in Namchi District, to explore the diverse range of adventure activities and attractions organised as part of the festival.
The Sikkim Adventure Tourism Fest 2026, organised by the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Sikkim, being held from November 1 to 7 at Linkhim Tar, Namthang, Namchi District, featuring a range of adventure activities spanning air, land and water-based experiences.
