Pakyong Hosts Remote Working Cohort Programme at Digital Nomad Village, Yakten

Date: 20-Mar-2026
Pakyong, March 20 (IPR): The Nomad Sikkim, in collaboration with Onevaasa, organised a Remote Working Retreat and Cohort Programme at Digital Nomad Village, Yakten. The initiative has been launched by the District Administrative Centre, Pakyong District.
The programme aims to reconnect with nature, highlighting the role of local communities in protecting natural ecosystems while providing sustainable experiences for participants, enabling them to continue their professional work remotely.
The retreat brought together participants from five different countries, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Morocco, and the United States, as well as from four Indian states and offers them an opportunity to work in a natural setting while experiencing the rich biodiversity and cultural heritage of Sikkim.
The fifteen-day programme will include a variety of activities including nature trails, village exploration, cultural interactions and experiential learning sessions, further encouraging a two-way exchange of knowledge and skills wherein the participants will share their own expertise and creative practices with members of the local community.
As part of the programme, a “Farm to Table” community potluck event was organised today, bringing together the cohort of city-based participants with eight of Yakten’s homestay families, who grow and process their food directly from farms adjacent to their homes.
Joining their homestay hosts, the participants walked to nearby farms to source fresh organic ingredients and prepare a local-style potluck dinner in their own unique styles, while sharing their experiences.
