Pakyong, May 19 (IPR): A voluntary blood donation camp under the theme “Donate Blood and Save Lives” was held today at the Community Hall, Pakyong, as part of the ongoing celebrations commemorating the 50th anniversary of Sikkim’s statehood. The initiative was organised by the Pakyong District Zilla Panchayat office in collaboration with the Singtam District Hospital Blood Centre and led by the Zilla Adhakshya of Pakyong District, Mrs Laden Lhamu Bhutia. Also present during the health camp were Additional District Collector (ADC) Pakyong, Mr Sangay Gyatso Bhutia; District Planning Officer (DPO) Zilla, Mr Sonam Zangpo Bhutia; members of the Zilla Panchayat; and officials from the medical and health departments. The blood donation drive aimed to promote social responsibility and to raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation. A total of 25 units of blood were collected during the camp, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of staff from various line departments. In acknowledgement of the significant contributions, the blood donors received certificates of appreciation.
