PRADHAN MANTRI GARIB KALYAN ANNA YOJANA
Mangan, April 22:
As per the press communique received from Shri. Palden N Lachungpa , District Civil Supplies Officer (North Sikkim), Food & Civil Supplies Department , Government of Sikkim informs that in view of the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country the Government has announced Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package which comprises of "PRADHAN MANTRI-GARIB KALYAN ANNA YOJANA"(PM-GKAY)with an objective to ensure the minimization of hardships faced by the poor resulting from the ongoing crisis.
Under this scheme 80 crore beneficiaries falling under the category of AAY & PHH Ration Cards covered under the NATIONAL food Security Act 2013 will be provided with the following foodgrains free of cost for a period of 3 months w.e.f April 2020 to June 2020 at the following scales:-
1) RICE:5 KILOGRAMS PER HEAD/PER MEMBERS
2) DAL:1 KILOGRAMS PER RATION CARD /PER FAMILY.
The allocation under 'PMGKAY' will be provided to the ration card holders over and above the regular monthly allocation under NFSA at free of cost.
The allocation has already reached to the Food Godowns under North District and the distribution will be done through the designated Fair Price Shops registered under the Food & Civil Supplies Department Government of Sikkim from 23.04.2020 with strict supervision and monitoring by the Department
