PM VIRTUALLY INAUGURATES FIVE PROJECTS
Gangtok, May 29 (IPR):
During the Statehood Celebrations this morning, Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated five landmark projects in Sikkim, marking a significant milestone for the state.
The inaugurated projects include:
1 District Hospital, Namchi- The 500-bedded District Hospital in Namchi spans 50,945 sq ft, providing top-notch medical services to the public. This state-of-the-art facility marks a significant upgrade in healthcare infrastructure for the region.
2 Swarna Jayanti Maitreya Manjari Project at Ridge Park, Gangtok- This project was built commemorating Sikkim’s 50 years of Statehood. The park features the Ashoka Pavilion, statues with traditional relevance and a cold house orchidarium containing over 100 species, including the native Dendrobium nobile and Cybidium NaMo, named after Prime Minister Narendra Modi).
3 Passenger Ropeway at Sangachoeling, Pelling, Gyalshing District- This project was built under PM-DevINE scheme aiming to connect Pelling to the Sangachoeling Monastery, one of the oldest and most significant monasteries of Sikkim. The project boasts of possessing 14 cabins and 5 towers with a capacity of 800 passengers per hour/direction.
4 Unveiling of the Statue of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Atal Amrit Udyan at Sangkhola, Gangtok District- The unveiling of statue of former Prime Minister of India, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee also took place this morning. The statue is located 34 kms away from Gangtok.
5. Gaushala, Mamring, Pakyong District- The Gaushala project under the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Department was also unveiled. The Gaushala aims to provide refuge and care for cows, especially those that are stray, sick, injured, or abandoned.
