PIB Shimla Media Delegation Discovers Temi Tea’s Heritage and Namchi’s Spiritual Legacy
Namchi, September 14 (IPR): A 13-member media delegation from the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Shimla, today visited the Temi Tea Garden and Factory in South Sikkim as part of their familiarisation visit to the State.
During the visit, senior officials of Temi Tea briefed the delegation on various aspects of tea cultivation, production processes and quality control measures adopted to maintain the distinctive quality and reputation of Temi Tea.
Interacting with the visiting media delegation, Managing Director of Temi Tea, Ms Radha Pradhan, shared her vision for the growth and expansion of the iconic Sikkimese tea brand. She emphasised that Temi Tea remains committed to maintaining its high standards of quality while simultaneously exploring innovative products and marketing strategies to appeal to younger consumers, particularly Gen Z and Gen Alpha.
She further informed that initiatives are underway to introduce a franchise model for Temi Tea, aimed at expanding its presence and making the brand more accessible to consumers across different markets.
Highlighting the potential for international expansion, she stressed the need to strengthen Temi Tea’s presence in overseas markets, particularly in Japan, Germany, the United States and South Korea, among others. She stated that necessary steps are being undertaken to explore and tap these opportunities and enhance the global footprint of Temi Tea.
The visit provided the media delegation with an insight into the journey of Temi Tea, from cultivation and processing to quality assurance and future market expansion, highlighting its potential to emerge as a stronger global brand while retaining its distinctive identity and standards.
Later, the media delegation visited Siddheshwar Dham in Namchi, where they experienced one of the prominent spiritual and cultural attractions of the district. The visit offered the delegates an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Sikkim’s rich cultural heritage, spiritual traditions and growing tourism potential.
