Opening of Lebunba Pungwa Neeing Yuk Him (Manghim)at Darap,Gyalshing District

Gyalshing, February 17 (IPR): In a moment of historic significance, the Chief Minister of Sikkim, Mr Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), inaugurated the Lebunba Pungwa Ne-ing Yuk Him (Manghim) at Yuma Yok, Darap, Gyalshing, today.
Upon his arrival, Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) unveiled the plaque, marking the official inauguration of the Manghim. He toured the complex, inspecting the completed work on the premises. Following this, the Chief Minister lit the Semi Hanching (oil lamp), accompanied by the sacred chanting of Ning Hing See Sewa Khahun by Suingneem Mr Daba Hang Limboo.
Present on the occasion was Her Holiness Sikkum Siyong Sepsing Yuma Mang, who bestowed her blessings upon him, along with His Eminence Serta Khenche Tulku Rinpoche from Yuksam who was also felicitated.
The grand ceremony was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including Mr Bhim Hang Limboo minister for Buildings and Housing,Labour departments - Cum-Area MLA Yangthang Constituency,Mr TT Bhutia minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation and Industries Departments,Mr Indra Hang Limboo Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha),Mr LN Sharma MLA Gyalshing-Barnyak, Mr Erung Tenzing Lepcha MLA Rinchenpong, Mr Rikshal D Bhutia MLA Barfung, Mr Tenzing D. Denzongpa, District Collector, Gyalshing, Mr Tshering Sherpa,l SP Gyalshing, along with Adhakshyas, Upadhakshyas, officials from various departments, Panchayat members, district-level party functionaries, and a large number of devotees from across the country and neighboring nations.
The Chief Minister offered his prayers and heartfelt reverence to Her Holiness Sikkum Siyong Sepsing Yuma Mang, who graciously blessed him in return.
A soulful rendition of Mang Samlo (Bhajan) by the Bhajan Mandali set the tone for the programme.
The welcome address was delivered by Mr Teng Hang Limboo, President of Yuma Mang Meditation Centre (YMMC).
Ms Asha Gurung, PCE-cum-Secretary of the Building and Housing Department (executing department), presented the technical report, informing the gathering that the Lebunba Pungwa Ne Ing Yuk Him (Manghim) project commenced on January 12, 2021, and was completed on January 30, 2025.
The two-storied structure, with GCI roofing, spans a total plinth area of 2,964.25 sq. ft. and a built-up area of 22,701.69 sq. ft. The ground floor houses living spaces, dormitories, a dining hall, and an emporium. The first floor comprises a multipurpose hall, guest and sick rooms, and common toilets. The top floor accommodates prayer and meditation rooms, a kitchen, a dining hall, bedrooms, including that of Yuma Mang's residence and bathrooms. Additionally, a four-storied temple(Manghim)with a rooftop stands as the centerpiece.
In his address, Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) expressed profound gratitude to Her Holiness Yuma Mang for gracing the occasion with her blessings. He also extended appreciation to His Eminence Tulku Rinpoche for his presence. Acknowledging the collective efforts of MLAs, government officials, Panchayati Raj functionaries, and the public, he lauded their dedication in bringing this sacred project to fruition. He emphasized his deep faith in the guidance and blessings of Yuma Mang, which have continually empowered him in his service to the people of Sikkim.
Reflecting on the challenges faced during the project’s early phases, including the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, the Chief Minister stressed the power of resilience and a positive mindset in overcoming adversity. He reaffirmed his commitment to working for the welfare of the people, driven by faith and perseverance.
Addressing concerns over mental health and rising suicide rates and drug abuse in the state, Mr Prem Singh Tamang emphasized the government's initiatives to combat these issues through counseling and holistic solutions. He advocated for mindfulness, meditation, and a disciplined lifestyle as vital tools for mental and emotional well-being.
Turning his attention to Yuma Manghim, he described it as a sanctuary of peace and spiritual solace, accessible to followers of all faiths. He declared that the site stands not only as a boon for Darap but as a beacon of unity and spiritual enrichment for all of Sikkim.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the honors conferred upon him by YMMCC and other esteemed members. He emphasized that true meaning in life comes from selfless service and humanity.
On the administrative front, he directed that all public works be coordinated directly between MLAs and concerned departments to ensure efficiency, cautioning that any unnecessary bureaucratic delays would invite departmental action.
In a significant announcement, the Chief Minister pledged an annual maintenance fund of Rs. 10 lakh for the Manghim. He also revealed plans for a dedicated budget allocation to incorporate Yoga and Wellness into the school curriculum.
Her Holiness Sikkum Siyong Sepsing Yuma Mang, in her Thanksgiving message, expressed profound gratitude to Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang for his unwavering vision and dedication, which have culminated in the realization of this sacred milestone. She acknowledged his tireless efforts in fostering spiritual and cultural harmony and recognized his pivotal role in bringing to life a place of divine serenity and worship. Reflecting on the journey leading to this momentous occasion, she lauded his commitment to preserving the rich traditions of Sikkim while ensuring that spaces of faith remain accessible and welcoming to all. Furthermore, Her Holiness praised the Chief Minister for his relentless efforts in advancing public welfare, highlighting his numerous schemes and initiatives aimed at uplifting the people of Sikkim. She commended his leadership in fostering inclusive development, social security, and overall well-being, ensuring that every citizen benefits from progressive governance. She extended her blessings to him and all those who contributed to this sacred endeavor, emphasizing that the inauguration of the Lebunba Pungwa Ne-ing Yuk Him Manghim is not merely a structural achievement but a testament to the collective devotion and unity of the people.
Earlier, the Yuma Mang Committee presented a Felicitation Letter to Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang, followed by similar honors to Mr Bhim Hang Limboo, Minister-cum-Area MLA Yangthang, and key contributors, including President of the Construction Committee, Mr Nirmal Bajaj and government contractor Mr Dil Hang Limboo.
The function also featured the sacred rituals of Tum Dum Seri (Holy Water) and Hukwa Leeing distribution.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr Buddha Bdr Limboo, Treasurer of the Yuma Mang Meditation Centre.
