Mangan, April 29:
North Sikkim has started distribution of Dry Ration to ICDS attending children. Since, the Anganwadi centres in Sikkim are closed due to the nation wide lockdown in order to combat COVID-19. With this regard the ICDS Department has commenced on providing Dry ration to meet the nutritional requirements for ICDS children so that their immunity can be safeguarded.
Whereas the centres has been shut temporarily, hence giving hot cooked meal daily to children was not possible .so Door to door delivery of dry ration consisting of Rice ,Dal ,soyachunks , potatoes and oil have been done by Anganwadi workers in coordination with CDPOs and supervisors .
This process is being undertaken with proper precautionary measures of COVID-19 specially the norm of social distancing and the parents have also been given awareness on Aarogya Setu App
