Namchi Rural Project Launches Five-Day ‘Poshan Bhi Padhai’ Training Programme for Anganwadi Workers

Namchi, June 16 (IPR) : The Namchi Rural Project (NRP) today launched a five-day training programme under the Government of India’s flagship initiative, Poshan Bhi Padhai (PBPB), at the Officers’ Club, Namchi.
The programme aims to strengthen the capacities of Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) by providing comprehensive training on the core components of the Poshan Bhi Padhai curriculum. The sessions focus on advanced Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) practices, play-based learning methodologies, and effective nutritional monitoring and tracking at the grassroots level.
A total of 144 Anganwadi Workers under the Namchi Rural Project are participating in the intensive training programme. Over the course of five days, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and practical skills required to transform Anganwadi Centres into vibrant, child-friendly learning spaces while ensuring improved nutrition and health outcomes for young children.
The inaugural session was attended by CDPO Namchi Mr Laxman Tamang, AD (Nutrition) Ms Sophia Lepcha, Supervisors of the Namchi Rural Project, District Coordinator Poshan Abhiyan Namchi and Nutrition Inspector, Namchi.
Serving as resource persons and trainers for the programme, the officials will guide participants through various modules designed to integrate early childhood education with nutrition, health, and developmental interventions.
The training programme is expected to enhance the quality of services delivered through Anganwadi Centres and contribute towards building a stronger foundation for the holistic growth and development of children across the region.
