Namchi District holds District-Level Yuva Utsav 2025

The District-Level Yuva Utsav, a key part of the National Youth Festival 2025, was successfully conducted at the Indoor Stadium, today.
The event aimed to foster youth participation in various cultural, intellectual, and creative activities, promoting community development and engagement.
The event was organised by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Namchi District, in collaboration with My Bharat (Nehru Yuva Kendra Namchi).

Also in attendance were students from various schools, Namchi Government College, Sikkim Alpine University, as well as staff from NYK, the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, and officers from various line departments.
The District-Level Yuva Utsav serves as an initiative to encourage youth participation in a broad spectrum of activities, focusing on cultural, creative, and intellectual growth. Through various competitions, the event also promotes community development and helps to showcase the talent of the youth in the region.
The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, accompanied by other dignitaries, marking the official commencement of the Yuva Utsav. The guests were presented with souvenirs, and traditional Khadas were offered as a gesture of respect.
Mr Sourav Barman, the District Youth Officer (DYO) of NYK, addressed the participants, providing details about the competitions, the prizes on offer, and upcoming state-level competitions. He mentioned that the winners of national-level competitions would receive prizes directly from the Prime Minister.
He further encouraged the participants to focus not only on the prizes but also on using the platform to showcase their talents and gain valuable experience.
The Yuva Utsav featured a diverse range of activities aimed at engaging young minds.

Story Writing Competitions
Mobile Photography Contests
Extempore Speeches
Science Mela
Solo Folk Songs and Dances
Group Folk Songs and Dances
These activities provided an excellent opportunity for participants to showcase their artistic, intellectual, and creative talents.
Following the competition, certificates and monetary awards were distributed to the winners of each contest. The Chief Guest presented a token of thanks to the judges as a mark of appreciation for their role in evaluating the participants.
The District-Level Yuva Utsav was a resounding success, offering a platform for young individuals to express themselves, develop new skills, and contribute to community development.
The day’s events not only highlighted the talent of the youth but also fostered a spirit of camaraderie and competition among them.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Basant Pradhan, Deputy Director of Sports, acknowledging the contributions of all involved and wishing the participants continued success in future competitions.
