Namchi District Hospital receives two Ambulance through Union Bank of India CSR Drive
Namchi, July 09 (IPR):
Ambulance Donation Programme under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by Union Bank Social Foundation was held today, at Namchi District Hospital.
The event was graced by Minister Urban Development Department and Food & Civil Supplies Department Mr Bhoj Raj Rai, who served as the Chief Guest for the programme.
He was accompanied by MLA 11-Namchi Singhithang Constituency Mr Satish Chandra Rai, General Manager Zonal Office Kolkata Union Bank of India (UBI) Mr Lokanath Sahoo and Regional Head UBI Siliguri Mr Biswajit Halder.
As part of its CSR initiative, two ambulance were formally handed over to Namchi District Hospital, aiming to strengthen emergency healthcare services and improve medical outreach in the region.
Minister UDD Mr Bhoj Raj Rai, in his address expressed gratitude to Mr Lokanath Sahoo for his support in providing two ambulances under the CSR initiative of Union Bank Social Foundation.
He emphasised the importance of utilising the ambulances efficiently to serve the people of the district and ease their medical emergencies. Congratulating the hospital, he urged the staff to make the best use of the facility for public benefits.
He also called on the Heads of Departments and Doctors to identify necessary medical equipment for the upcoming 500-bedded hospital in Namchi, aiming to reduce patient travel and ensure complete treatment within the district.
Additionally, he informed that efforts are underway to enhance water resources in Namchi to address water shortages. Highlighting upcoming development plans, he urged public cooperation for the betterment of the state and encouraged citizens to foster a strong sense of belongingness.
MLA 11 Namchi Singhithang, Mr Satish Chandra Rai, expressed his gratitude to the Union Bank of India (UBI) team for organising the donation programme and extending their continued support to the State during challenging times.
He appreciated UBI’s consistent contribution, especially through CSR initiatives, and acknowledged the role the bank has played in supporting Sikkim’s development.
He also commended the dedicated efforts of the doctors, Heads of Departments, and staff of Namchi District Hospital for their unwavering commitment to ensuring the health and well being of the people.
General Head of UBI, Kolkata Mr Lokanath Sahoo, urged everyone to connect with and extend their support to the Union Bank of India. He acknowledged the generosity and trust of the people of the state for choosing UBI as their banking partner.
He emphasised the importance of continued collaboration between the bank and the community, highlighting UBI’s commitment to delivering accessible and inclusive banking services.
Moreover he expressed that with the ongoing support of the people, UBI would continue to contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the region.
Regional Head of Union Bank of India (UBI) Siliguri Mr Biswajit Halder, announced that more UBI branches are set to open across Sikkim, adding to the existing nine branches in the state.
