Music videos on Teej released

Gangtok August 17(IPR): Two music videos on Teej, titled ‘Aamale Deko Jhumka’ and ‘Yo Rato Sari', produced by Uma Films Production were released by Madam Krishna Rai at a function held in a local hotel at Gangtok, today.
Also present at the event were Mr Delay Namgyal Barfungpa (Lepcha), MLA Gangtok-cum-Advisor Urban Development and Food and Civil Supplies Departments, Mr Samdup Tshering Bhutia, MLA -cum-Chairman, State Trading Corporation of Sikkim (STCS), Mr Sandeep Malu, Executive Councillor, Gangtok Municipal Corporation(GMC), Ms Karma D Youtso, Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department, Mr Hari Dhungel, President, Nepali Sahitya Parishad and other dignitaries.
Madam Krishna Rai in her address, expressed gratitude for the invitation at the video release function. She congratulated Ms Uma Giri, Proprietor of Uma Films Production, for her unwavering dedication and the impact she had on the talented young artists. She also extended an invitation to all artists to join the Sikkim Kalakar Bharosa Sammelan event. She said that art should be praised for its profound ability to transcend boundaries, evoke emotions, and inspire change.
She further highlighted that the Government has always stood by artists, supporting their creativity and contributions. She added that everyone involved in the field of film, music, and art should come forward and be a part of every art event that contributes towards 'Sunaulo Ani Samriddha Sikkim'. Furthermore, she said that women's progress is not just an achievement but a triumph of resilience, determination, and strength.
In his address, MLA Gangtok expressed deep appreciation for emerging young talent in the State. He highlighted the Chief Minister’s consistent support for women's empowerment through various initiatives. He congratulated the team for their efforts and lauded their commitment to showcasing local talent. He urged them to continue promoting the state and its culture through their artistic endeavours, reinforcing the importance of uplifting and celebrating local heritage.
MLA-cum-STCS Chairman, Mr Samdup Tshering Bhutia extended his best wishes to the entire Uma Films Production team and commended their efforts in showcasing Sikkim internationally and also assured his support for future production.
Proprietor of Uma Films Production detailed her journey in the film industry and stressed the need for the development of the Sikkimese film industry. She pledged her unwavering support to the talented artists, acknowledging their potential and dedication. She also extended gratitude to Madam Krishna Rai and other dignitaries for their invaluable support in making the event successful.
During the programme, Madam Krishna Rai was presented with a shawl and a memento as a token of appreciation for her support. Likewise, mementoes were also presented to other dignitaries. During the event, the chief guest and dignitaries felicitated the members of the production team. The event also featured a Maruni dance presented by Khesey Ward, Tumin-Lingee Constituency.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr Hari Dhungel, President, Nepali Sahitya Parisad.
