Monthly Coordination Meeting with DEO and EROs Held at DAC Soreng
Soreng, November 5: A monthly coordination meeting was convened today at the District Administrative Centre, Soreng, which was chaired by the District Election Officer (DEO) Mr Dhiraj Subedi. The meeting was attended by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and representatives from various political parties.
The EROs present were:
* Mr Daya Ram Bista, ADC I – 08 Salghari-Zoom (SC)
* Ms Sakchum Lepcha, SDM – 07 Soreng-Chakung
* Mr Prem K Subba, SDM (HQ) – 06 Daramdin (BL)
* Mr D N Sharma, SDM Mangalbaria – 05 Rinchenpong (BL)
In the meeting, they discussed the preparation for the implementation of the Special Intensive Revision of the electoral roll, the status of Booth Level Officer (BLO) assignments, and a coordinated approach with political parties to ensure a smooth and transparent process.
DEO Soreng briefed participants on the structure and purpose of the various electoral coordination forums, namely the ERO, DEO, and CEO forums, emphasising their role in maintaining electoral integrity and administrative efficiency.
Political representatives were invited to raise any issues or grievances. A representative from the Citizen Action Party (CAP) expressed concerns, which were addressed by the DEO. The DEO clarified that all related procedures are being carried out lawfully, and any identified discrepancies are being rectified with due process and appropriate action. The DEO also informed the participants that Soreng is soon to be upgraded to a Nagar Panchayat, marking an important step in the region’s administrative development.
In closing, Mr Dhiraj Subedi emphasised the need for collaborative efforts and transparent coordination among all stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of electoral activities.

* Citizen Action Party (CAP) Sikkim
* Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF)
