Namchi, May 11 (IPR): Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Government of India, Ms Savitri Thakur, arrived in Namchi today on a three-day official visit to Namchi District.
The MoS was received by Mr Satish Chandra Rai MLA Namchi-Singhithang, Ms Tenny D Bhutia Chairperson Sikkim State Commission for Women, Ms Anupa Tamling DC Namchi, Ms Sonam Doma Bhutia Sr SP Namchi, Mr Subash Ghimirey ADC Namchi(Hq), along with other officials.
As part of her visit, the MoS visited Old Age Home at Boomtar, Namchi, where she interacted with officials and reviewed the functioning, management and facilities available at the institution. She also enquired about the welfare measures being extended to the elderly residents.
Further, She visited Namchi District Hospital and reviewed the healthcare facilities and services being provided to the public. During the visit, she inspected various departments of the hospital and also interacted with admitted patients regarding the medical care and treatment being provided.
The MoS is on a three-day tour of Namchi District from May 11 to 13 and is scheduled to visit various institutions and developmental sites across Ravangla, Temi, Namthang and
Jorethang.
