Mizoram IPR and Journalists Interact with Press Club of Sikkim to Foster Collaboration
Gangtok, November 27 (IPR):
A team consisting of representatives of Mizoram Information and Public Relations (IPR) and Mizoram Journalist Association (MJA) paid a visit to Press Club of Sikkim (PCS) here at Metro Point Tadong, this morning.
Upon their arrival, the Mizoram team was accorded a warm welcome by Ms Sarojini Subba, Senior District Information Officer Gangtok at Information and Public Relations Department and Mr Dilli Ram Dulal, General Secretary PCS.
The Sikkim team comprised of Executive Committee members of PCS namely, Mr Bikash Chettri Vice President; Mr Nirmal Manger Culture Secretary; Mr Bishnu Neopaney Sports Secretary; and Mr Jagan Dahal Treasurer and also present were Mr Bijoy Gurung, Editor Sikkim Express and Mr Sandeep Prasad, Treasurer Journalists Union of Sikkim.
The delegates of Mizoram IPR and MJA consisted of Mr Zonunchama Ralte (DIPRO) Lawngtlai Mizoram IPR; Mr Hmingmawia (AVPA) Lunglei Mizoram IPR; Mr C Lalhmachhuana Vice President MJA; Mr Lalhmachhuana Zofa Diktawn; Mr Lal Rinmawia Vanglaini; Mr Lalbiakzama Entlang; Mr F Lalramliana The Aizawl Post; Mr Lalvansanga Pautu The Zozam Times; Mr Joseph Lalnuntluanga Zo Rin; Mr Chhuanvawra Lentlang; Mr Jeffrey Khara Moonlight Siaha; and Mr V Rokhawlkima Ziakfung Lunglei.
In the active interaction session between PCS and MJA, they touched upon various subjects such as brief history of their Associations, pension schemes and welfare schemes for the journalists of both the states, relationship of the associations with their respective Governments, circulation and status of the prinit media, digital media guidelines, etc.
The Executive Committee members of PCS apprised their Mizoram counterpart about the initiatives taken by the Government of Sikkim for the welfare of the working journalists and their families. They stated that it is a great privilege for the Sikkimese journalists that the Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang-Golay , who is also the Minister for the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Sikkim, has fulfilled every demand of PCS. They expressed satisfaction at the strong collaboration and effective teamwork between PCS and the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Sikkim.
Earlier, Mr Nirmal Manger in his welcome address thanked the Mizoram team for their visit. A token of appreciation was also presented by PCS to Mr Zonunchama Ralte (DIPRO) Lawngtlai Mizoram IPR and Mr C Lalhmachhuana Vice President MJA.
The Mizoram team are here in Sikkim on an exposure tour from November 26 to November 30, 2024.
