Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDONER) Officers visit Soreng under the (ADP)
Soreng, November 12 (IPR):
Mr Sandeep Singh, Deputy Secretary (DoNER), and Mr Shivendra Singh, Consultant (DoNER), from the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDONER), visited Soreng as part of the Aspirational District Programme (ADP). The visit included tour of essential facilities, such as Pakkhigoan Secondary School, Pakkhigoan ICDS Centre, and Soreng Community Health Centre (CHC), where the team evaluated the status of services and infrastructure.
Following the site visits, a meeting was held at the Soreng District Administrative Centre (DAC), attended by the District Magistrate (DM), ADM, SDM, and Heads of Departments (HODs). This session aimed to discuss the ADP’s progress in the district, identify challenges, and explore developmental opportunities. The DC while welcoming the visiting officers shared the problems and prospects of Soreng District. He further stressed upon the important role to be played by the line Departments in achieving saturation. He then gave a brief overview of the meeting to all the attendees, suggesting the concerned officials to monitor the progress of the programme.
During the meeting Mr Sunny Kharel, SDM Soreng, provided a comprehensive overview of the Aspirational District Programme (ADP) and Aspirational Block Programme (ABP). The meeting also provided a platform for line department officials to contribute valuable suggestions and raise specific issues related to their respective sectors.
Mr Sandeep Singh Deputy Secretary (DoNER) provided a valuable insight of the challenges faced by the Aspirational Districts. He then urged the concerned departments to work in-coordination, focusing on identifying the gaps and to prepare an authentic report so the genuine gaps can be addressed.
