Minister of Ecclesiastical Department Arrives at Sacred Bhumchu Festival at Tashiding Monastery
Gyalshing, March 3(IPR): The Minister of Ecclesiastical Department, Ven Sonam Lama, arrived at the revered Sacred Bhumchu Festival held at Tashiding Monastery in the evening of March 2.
He was accompanied by the Minister of
Tourism & Civil Aviation Deptt Mr Tshering T Bhutia;District Collector-cum-District Magistrate Gyalshing Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa; Superintendent of Police Gyalshing Mr Tshering Sherpa; SDM Yuksam, Mr CS Subba; BDO Chongrang Ms Geeta Kumari Gurung ;BDO Yuksam Mr SM Subba;Zilla Members; Deputy Commandant 72nd Battalion SSB;Medical officers of 72nd Battalion SSB;Panchayat representatives; District officers and Officals from various departments.
The Sacred Bhumchu Festival, deeply rooted in Sikkimese Buddhist tradition, attracts a large number of devotees and visitors from across the state and neighbouring regions. The holy Bhumchu ceremony symbolises peace, prosperity, and well-being, and is regarded as one of the most auspicious and spiritually significant festivals of Sikkim.
